What Our WDI Inspections Cover

Our inspectors examine both the interior and exterior of the property. Inside, that means basements, crawlspaces, attics, sill plates, floor joists, support beams, door frames, and window sills. Outside, we assess the foundation, grading, wood-to-soil contact zones, decks, fencing, and any areas where moisture may collect against structural wood.

We look for the physical signs each species leaves behind:

• Mud tubes running along foundation walls or piers, the signature of subterranean termite activity
• Frass, the sawdust-like droppings left by carpenter ants and wood-boring beetles
• Exit holes and pinholes in wood surfaces from powderpost beetles or carpenter bees
• Discarded wings near windowsills or entry points, indicating termite swarm activity
• Hollow-sounding wood and visible moisture damage that can attract insects

At the end of the inspection, you receive a written report on the NPMA-33 form, the industry-standard document accepted by VA, HUD, FHA, and conventional lenders. The report covers both active evidence of infestation and conducive conditions that raise the risk of future activity, so everyone involved in the transaction has a complete picture.
